Graco TruCoat 360 DS Handheld Review

For ultra portability and lightweight options, you’ll want to check out the Graco TruCoat 360 DS Handheld (model# 17A466). Weighing only 3.5 pounds its much lighter than it’s cordless battery powered counterpart dubbed the TrueCoat Pro (discontinued but replaced with the Ultra Cordless) .

The 360 DS is designed around being a convenient and easy to sprayer. One of the best features of the the TruCoat is unique technology called “VacuValve” which because of the air tight seal allows you greater flexibility in painting angles  even holding the unit upside down.

The TruCoat 360 DS is ideal for small jobs that require around 2-4 quarts of paint such as painting shutters, gutters, eaves, furniture, doors, fences or trim (such as crown molding before it is installed). It’s recommended if you anticipate using around 25 gallons of paint per year.

If prep work is required on old wood, then you may have to remove the older paint before starting the new coats. If latex, then heat guns work well for that purpose.

There are multiple modes for speed of spray. The lower speed is great for areas that require more finite or control (i.e. detailed work) vs the high speed for large volume areas (like a chair or wood door).
